• Identify and sort ferrous and non-ferrous materials by grade.
• Troubleshoot basic equipment issues and perform minor repairs.
• Greet and assist customers in a safe, professional manner.
• Occasionally travel to off-site yards or customers’ sites for tasks.
• Overtime and weekend work may be required.
• Work with at least one other person once trained.

Principal Objective of Position:Heavy Equipment Operators are required and responsible for the following: Safe operation of equipment/trucks used to move material in the yard - at times, this will include manual labor on the part of the Equipment Operator. Routine and daily maintenance and cleaning of the equipment operated and the equipment in a cell or task they are assigned to. Ensure the safety of vendors, customers, contractors, and co-workers in the area they are working in. Traveling to an off-site yard or customer’s site could be assigned to qualified and trained operators.Essential Functions:The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
