Your Talent Source, LLC is seeking a Metallurgist / Quality Manager with extensive aluminum experience to oversee metallurgical quality and alloy development in a Texas-based operation. The role covers casthouse and extrusion processes, aiming to optimize alloy performance and product quality.

The successful candidate will troubleshoot complex metallurgical issues, lead root-cause analyses, and collaborate with customers and internal teams to drive process improvements and new alloy

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in metallurgy and quality roles.
• Extensive aluminum experience.
• Strong knowledge of soft aluminum alloys.
• Experience with metallurgical testing methods (tensile, hardness, microstructure).

Responsibilities

• Support all metallurgical aspects of the aluminum billet, including alloy development and billet quality.
• Provide metallurgical support across casthouse and extrusion operations.
• Develop and optimize aluminum alloys to meet customer needs.
• Analyze and troubleshoot extrusion defects (surface, mechanical, dimensional).
• Support billet casting, homogenization, and heat treatment processes.
• Establish and maintain process standards and metallurgical best practices.
• Lead or support root cause analysis and corrective actions for metallurgical quality issues.
• Support new product development and qualification of new alloys or profiles.
• Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders on technical issues and approvals.

METALLURGIST / QUALITY MANAGER - Aluminum

We're looking for a Metallurgist / Quality Manager with experience in Aluminum for our client's operation in Texas.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of experience in Metallurgy & Quality
• 5+ years of aluminum experience
• Strong knowledge of soft aluminum alloys
• Strong knowledge of heat treatment and metallurgical properties
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex metallurgical and process issues
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Experience with homogenization, quenching, and aging processes
• Familiarity with metallurgical testing methods (tensile, hardness, microstructure analysis)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Include:

Responsible for supporting all metallurgical aspects of the aluminum billet, including alloy development, billet quality, process optimization, and product performance.
