Qualifications

  • Masters with 6+ years of professional experience in geology or metallurgical engineering or a PhD with 4+ years related experience.
  • Levels 4 and 5 describe different experience requirements for advanced positions.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct technical research and participate in R&D strategy.
  • Experience engaging program sponsors at DOE, industry and other federal agencies.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct geological or geochemical field studies, sample collection, and testing programs for data collection.
  • Plan and execute research on novel comminution and beneficiation methods for improved critical materials production.
  • Collaborate with geologists, chemists, engineers, and scientists to integrate feedstocks and processing methods.
  • Pursue and secure funding through proposals and industry partnerships.
  • Write peer-reviewed publications and reports; present at conferences and sponsor meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
