Job summary

Qarbon Aerospace is seeking a tooling technician to fabricate and assemble tooling under supervision. You will read blueprints, verify parts, and ensure quality control while following safety procedures.

You’ll collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot issues and maintain detailed records. The role requires several years of tooling experience, strong communication, and the ability to work from complex specifications in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum five years of tooling experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving and collaboration with engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Work from blueprints, engineering orders, tool drawings, tool orders, G.S.S., MIL specifications, electronic data, Quality Control procedures, lofts, company, military, and customer specifications and similar information.
  • Independently or under supervision perform a variety of functions to fabricate and construct less complicated tooling.
  • Monitor and implement adherence to safety and department procedures.
  • Use precision measuring instruments when performing quality tasks.
  • Perform Production Accountability duties associated with processing, verification, quality auditing and inspection of assemblies, parts and tooling.
  • Communicate with supervision and engineers effectively.
  • Prepare and maintain necessary paperwork and records.
  • Notify supervision of malfunctions, defects, or damages of equipment, material, and product.
  • Troubleshoot and solve problems through collaboration with engineers and other technicians.
  • Keep work areas clean and orderly.
  • Other duties as required.

Essential Functions

Perform a variety of tooling duties under the direction of supervision and higher classified Toolmakers.

  • Work from blueprints, engineering orders, tool drawings, tool orders, G.S.S., MIL specifications, electronic data, Quality Control procedures, lofts, company, military, and customer specifications and similar information
  • Independently or under the direction of supervision or higher classified Toolmakers perform a variety of functions and operations to fabricate and construct less complicated tooling
  • Monitor and implement adherence to all safety and department procedures, practices and directives
  • Use precision measuring instruments when performing assigned quality tasks
  • Perform Production Accountability duties associated with the processing, verification, quality auditing and inspection of assemblies, parts and tooling for which the individual has been delegated Production Accountability
    • Must be capable of and responsible for communicating
    • Select and grind tools in accordance with parts or materials to be machined
    • Prepare and maintain necessary paperwork and records
    • Notify supervision of all malfunctions, defects, or damages of equipment, material, and product
    • Troubleshoot and solve unique problems through collaboration with engineers and other technicians
    • Keep work areas clean and orderly
    • Other duties as required
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job the employee will be very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.

Educational Requirements
  • High school diploma or an accredited GED.
Experience

Minimum of five (4) years’ experience
