Job summary

BL Harbert International is seeking a Metal Stud Framer to construct interior and exterior wall and ceiling framing using light-gauge metal studs on commercial and federal projects. You will interpret blueprints, perform precise layout, and install framing to meet specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Responsibilities include measuring, laying out, installing framing, reading drawings, framing openings, coordinating with drywall crews, operating tools, and inspecting

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of commercial metal stud framing experience preferred.
  • Experience on commercial and federal construction projects preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel as required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment.

  • Measure, layout, and install metal stud framing for interior and exterior walls, soffits, shafts, and ceiling systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and project specifications to ensure accurate installation.
  • Install track, studs, bracing, blocking, and related framing components.
  • Frame door and window openings, bulkheads, and other architectural features.
  • Verify framing is plumb, level, square, and properly aligned before drywall installation.
  • Coordinate framing activities with drywall crews and other trades to maintain project schedules.
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, lasers, and layout equipment.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with project requirements and quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.

Job description

The Metal Stud Framer is responsible for constructing interior and exterior wall and ceiling framing systems using light-gauge metal studs and track on commercial and federal construction projects. This position requires the ability to accurately interpret blueprints, perform precise layout work, and install framing systems that meet project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Measure, layout, and install metal stud framing for interior and exterior walls, soffits, shafts, and ceiling systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and project specifications to ensure accurate installation.
  • Install track, studs, bracing, blocking, and related framing components.
  • Frame door and window openings, bulkheads, and other architectural features.
  • Verify framing is plumb, level, square, and properly aligned before drywall installation.
  • Coordinate framing activities with drywall crews and other trades to maintain project schedules.

Qualifications:

  • Skilled in interior and exterior metal stud wall and ceiling framing.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Experience with framing layouts, partition systems, and suspended ceiling framing.
  • Strong understanding of construction tolerances, measurements, and layout techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work, including standing, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and working from scaffolding or aerial lifts.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel as required for project assignments.
