Job summary

Peugeot Sport (Stellantis Motorsport) seeks an Engineering Metal Model Maker experienced in running stamping presses, die design for prototypes, and sheet metal fabrication for bodies and sub-assemblies.

Responsibilities include welding, cutting, grinding, and fabricating fixtures to support prototype processes; the role requires CAD reading, basic machining knowledge, and familiarity with various weld types to build and adjust prototype parts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of kirksite die design and prototype sheet metal parts.
• Ability to read CAD prints and interpret data.
• Basic machining understanding, mills and lathes.
• Welding experience: MIG, TIG, spot welds; weld controller programming a plus.
• Fabrication of plates and layout for PLP locations.

Responsibilities

• Run stamping press and contribute to prototype sheet metal builds.
• Design or modify dies for prototype, low-number parts.
• Weld, cut, and grind sheet metal to create/modify bodies and sub-assemblies.
• Fabricate fixtures and tooling to aid prototype sheet metal processes.

Engineering Metal Model Maker - Experienced in running a stamping press, die design (for prototype, low number parts) Weld, cut, and grind sheet metal to create or modify prototype sheet metal vehicles bodies and sub-assemblies. Fabricate fixtures and tooling to aid in the prototype sheet metal process.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Knowledge of simple kirksite die design and use for making prototype sheet metal parts
• Use of hand tools: (e.g., drills, die grinders, plasma cutters, protractors)
• CAD print reading and data interpretation
• Basic Understanding in Machining:
  • Mills and Lathes
• Welding:
  • MIG, TIG, spot welding, nut projection, and weld stud projection
  • Program Medar controllers for spot welders a plus
• Build Plates:
  • Fabricate, assemble, and layout locations for PLP's

Preferred Qualifications

• Vehicle Carts:
  • Fabricate, assemble, repair, and modify
• Templates and Masks:
  • Fabricate spot welding masks in conjunction with the Plastic Shop
  • Fabricate templates (e.g., parts locating, weld locations, reworks, modifications, repairs).
• Builds - (e.g., Mules, VIP, Program):
  • Assembly, modifications, repairs, and reworks
• Fixtures:
  • Fabricate and assemble weld fixtures
  • Weld BIW fixture assemblies and parts
• Build Issue Sheets:
  • Highlight, diagnose, and report on build issues
• Garage and Pilot Support:
  • Vehicle build support (e.g., modifications, repairs, and reworks)
