Job summary

Lexicon is seeking a Metal Mechanic I to fabricate, assemble, and install metal structures for facility maintenance and installation programs. The role offers growth opportunities and a starting pay of $27 per hour plus $80 per diem.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent and an apprenticeship or 3-year in-company training. You will read blueprints, select materials, cut, bend, and rivet metal, and operate the appropriate machinery.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• Apprenticeship or 3-year in-company training completed.
• Experience reading blueprints and using hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Select appropriate material based on strength.
• Cut, bend, and shape sheet metal to dimensions.
• Measure and cut per blueprints or directions.
• Connect pieces by riveting, rolling, soldering, or screws.
• Operate machinery to complete jobs.
• Coordinate shutdowns/startups after sheet metal installation.
• Develop and maintain project/repair records.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace.
• Overtime and punctual attendance required.
