Job summary

Charter Casting is hiring for a 3rd shift Production role at our Woodstock, IL facility. The position involves operating forklifts to move molten iron, supporting melt deck processes, and delivering material to production lines. Shift runs 8pm–6am on 10-hour days.

Starting pay is $26.50 per hour (base $24.25 + $2.25 shift premium). We offer full-time hours, weekly pay, and a comprehensive benefits package, plus growth opportunities in a safety-first, family-owned environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to read and understand instructions.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to read thermometers and record data.

Responsibilities

• Transport molten iron via forklift (of all sizes), wheeled containers, or by carrying from holding vessels to/from bar lines and melt deck.
• Sample molten iron for temperature and composition within tolerances.
• Support team with tapping, slagging, and chipping operations.
• Maintain production schedules and communicate effectively.
• Add various alloys to molten iron per work order instructions.
• Clean molten iron from used ladles.
• Communicate progress to other shifts verbally or in writing.
• Manage time to deliver molten iron to bar lines and melt deck at appropriate intervals.
• Recognize abnormalities with molten iron and equipment and report findings to Lead and/or Maintenance team members.
• Work effectively in teams within and outside the department.
