Job summary

Senior Aerospace SSP in California seeks a Metal Fitter/Tacker to set up, fit and finish detailed parts for aircraft assemblies. Tasks include hand grinding, expanding, and hand fitting to blueprint dimensions for heliarc welding, resistance welding, and related operations.

Summary: Set up and fit detailed parts on aircraft, aerospace and similar assemblies. Performs hand grinding, expanding and hand fitting to blueprint dimensions for heliarc tacking, welding and/or resistance welding.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Under general supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to:

• Performs such typical operations as aligning machined details or stampings preparatory to welding operations.
• Trims, scribes, files or grinds parts to templates or scribed lines.
• Sets up single jobs in assembly jig for welding.
• Assists higher classified workers as required.
• Performs rework, repair and other associated operations relating to the work described.
• Maintain minimum output of 65%.
• Maintain minimum product quality acceptance of 90%.
• Follow all Senior policies and procedure.
• Other duties as assigned.

In addition to the above, Metal Fitters Tackers are to maintain an organized, clean and safe work area using safety standards and expectations while adhering to all quality practices.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or General Education Degree; or 3- 6 months of related and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Monday - Friday 3:30pm - 1:00am

Target Annual Rate: $49,920.00
