General Summary

The Metal Finishing Technician is responsible for grinding, polishing, and preparing metal components to meet high-quality and visual appearance standards. This role ensures that all parts are free of defects, properly finished, and ready for assembly or shipment. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, dependable, and committed to consistent workmanship in a production environment.

Key Responsibilities

Metal Finishing & Polishing

• Grind, sand, clean, and polish metal parts to remove burrs, sharp edges, and surface defects.
• Operate tools such as belt sanders, hand grinders, polishers, and deburring equipment.
• Apply finishing techniques to meet specified surface texture and appearance requirements.

Quality

• Inspect finished parts for conformance to workmanship and quality standards.
• Communicate surface finish concerns or part issues to team leads or managers.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve finishing challenges.

Safety & Workplace Organization

• Follow all company safety guidelines and PPE requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Perform routine checks and basic care of finishing equipment and tools.
