Job summary

Central Moloney in Panama City, FL is seeking a Metal Fab Technician to shape structural and functional components for transformers. You will operate multiple machines, measure, cut, and form metal parts to exact specs, fitting and inspecting assemblies, and supporting the cover band process from start to finish.

This hands-on, safety‑sensitive role demands a high school diploma and 2+ years in metal fabrication, read tape measures, and follow procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of experience in metal fabrication or industrial manufacturing preferred.
• Foundation in machine operating and machine programming.
• Ability to read a tape measure and follow specs.
• Experience with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
• Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and a team mindset.
• Willingness to undergo background check, drug test, and physical.

Responsibilities

• Operate up to five machines to complete the cover band process.
• Measure, cut, and form metal parts to spec.
• Fit and fasten bands and inspect completed assemblies for proper fit and quality.
• Operate fabrication equipment (press brake, shear, punch, saws, etc.).
• Handle heavy steel rolls safely and efficiently.
• Read work instructions to fabricate parts to spec.
• Perform tack welds and minor assembly work.
• Ensure components meet quality and dimensional standards.
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and follow safety procedures.
• Pitch in with other duties as needed – cross-trained teams.

Job Title: Metal Fabricator - Transformer Manufacturing

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Starting Pay: $20.00 per hr

Please Note: Due to current production demands, this position currently requires mandatory overtime, including Friday and Saturday shifts. This schedule is expected to continue through the end of the year but is subject to change based on business needs.

Shift Schedule:

• Monday to Thursday, 5:00 PM - 3:30 am
• Overtime may be required based on production needs

• Lifting & Mobility: Lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted; standing, bending, and moving throughout your shift
• Work Environment: Our facility is active, loud, and warm - especially during peak production
• PPE: We provide and require safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toed shoes
• Dexterity & Vision: Manual dexterity and strong visual acuity are needed for detail-oriented work
