TrulyHired in Medford is seeking a Metal Fabrication Instructor for the 2026-2027 school year. The successful candidate will teach the Metal Fabrication and Joining Technologies curriculum with emphasis on welding and sheet metal, aligned to Chapter 74 licensure requirements.

The role requires a Chapter 74 license (or eligibility) and OSHA certification, plus strong background in industry standards. Collaboration with Engineering & Robotics will be part of the Advanced Manufacturing pathway.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a Chapter 74 license in Metal Fabrication and Joining Technologies with welding and sheet metal focus.
  • Five years within the last seven years of full-time employment related to metal fabrication and joining technologies.
  • Current Chapter 74 license in MA Metal Fabrication and Joining Technologies.
  • Passing score of at least 70% on the written and performance exams in Metal Fabrication and Joining Technologies.
  • Passing score on either the Vocational Literacy Skills Test or the Communications and Literacy Skills Test.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Metal Fabrication and Joining Technologies to high school students.
  • Collaborate with Engineering & Robotics for shared lessons within the Advanced Manufacturing pathway.
  • Ensure compliance with Chapter 74 licensure requirements for program delivery.

Metal Fabrication Instructor

Qualified applications must possess a Chapter 74 license in Metal Fabrication and Joining Technologies with an emphasis on welding and sheet metal or meet the eligibility requirements for licensure, which include:

  • Five (5) years within the last seven (7) years of full-time employment directly related to Metal Fabrication and Joining Technologies;
  • Possession current Chapter 74 Massachusetts Metal Fabrication and Joining Technologies;
  • Passing score of at least 70% on the written and performance exams in Metal Fabrication and Joining Technologies; and
  • Passing score on either the Vocational Literacy Skills Test or the Communications and Literacy Skills Test
Chapter 74 Metal Fabrication

This person should possess a chapter 74 vocational license in Metal Fabrication and Joining Technologies with an emphasis on welding and sheet metal. Further, the successful candidate should hold certification in OSHA construction standards and/or trainer. The Metal Fabrication program is part of the Advanced Manufacturing pathway and there will be some shared lessons/curriculum with Engineering & Robotics.

Salary is in accordance with the Medford Teachers Association Contract:
