Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking a motivated metal additive 3D printing specialist to join the Advanced Development Lab (ADL) in Sunnyvale, CA.

You will guide DfAM, modify CAD prototypes, operate various metal 3D printers, and perform post-processing to support development of future Apple products. The role focuses on LPBF processes, collaboration with design and manufacturing teams, and scaling prototypes to meet functional and aesthetic requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review incoming orders for DfAM principles.
• Provide metal additive expertise during prototyping stages.
• Modify designs with CAD for metal processes.
• Balance needs of customers to deliver prototypes on time.
• Develop optimized printing processes and workflows.
• Set up and operate metal 3D printers.
• Load and unload materials and finished parts.
• Monitor machine operations and maintain tolerances.
• Perform finishing operations (support removal, polishing, sanding).
• Follow safety protocols and keep work area organized.
• Inspect finished parts for quality and accuracy.
• Communicate with team to ensure smooth operation.
