Job summary

MOBIS North America Electrified Powertrain, LLC (MNAe) is seeking a MES Engineer to support the design, implementation, and maintenance of Manufacturing Execution Systems across our facilities. You will work with cross-functional teams to analyze production processes, configure MES software, and drive improvements in manufacturing operations.

Summary

The MES Engineer will be responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) within our manufacturing facilities. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze production processes, configure MES software, and provide technical expertise to optimize manufacturing operations. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and proficiency in MES software and related technologies. This role will work MOBIS North America Electrified Powertrain, LLC (MNAe).

ABOUT MOBIS NORTH AMERICA ELECTRIFIED POWERTRAIN, LLC

MOBIS North America electrified Powertrain LLC (MNAe) is a Tier 1 supplier of BSA and PE systems, which are vital parts to produce electric vehicles, based on state-of-art manufacturing technology related to battery system assembly.

Essential Functions

(To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)

System Implementation and Integration

• Support implementation, deployment, validation, and stabilization of manufacturing-related IT systems across multiple plants.
• Gather business and operational requirements and translate them into system solutions aligned with manufacturing objectives.
• Configure, maintain, and enhance Smart Factory applications including Work Cycle Time management, Mobile Systems, Smart Monitoring System (M-Scope), BI System (GBI) Board, and other manufacturing support systems.
• Coordinate integrations between MES and connected systems including ERP, PLCs, equipment automation systems, Smart Factory applications, and reporting platforms.
• Support system testing, troubleshooting, cutover planning, and go-live readiness activities.
• Participate in manufacturing system enhancement and continuous improvement projects.

System Operation, Stability, and Ownership

• Serve as the primary owner and support lead for Smart Factory and manufacturing support systems, including WCT, Mobile Systems, MScope, GBI Status Board, and related manufacturing applications.
• Provide IT system management coverage for both PE Richmond Hill and BSA2 Ellabell facilities.
• Partner with MES operational owners at each manufacturing plant to support MES-related improvements, integrations, issue analysis, system changes, and production support requirements.
• Monitor system performance, availability, system health, and data integrity across manufacturing applications.
• Troubleshoot incidents and coordinate timely resolution of production-related system issues to minimize downtime and operational disruption.
• Investigate system incidents, operational abnormalities, and production-impacting issues using structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Perform detailed root cause analysis (RCA) and identify corrective and preventive actions to improve system reliability and operational effectiveness.
• Analyze issues using the 5W1H methodology (Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How), identify contributing factors, and develop sustainable improvement plans.
• Prepare investigation reports, root cause findings, corrective action recommendations, and system improvement proposals for review by MES Managers and IT leadership.
• Track recurring issues, identify trends, and proactively recommend stabilization and optimization initiatives.
• Support production operations during system incidents, implementation activities, planned maintenance, and critical business events.
• During second-shift and extended production operations, respond to manufacturing system issues according to severity and business impact by either working directly with MES Operators or escalating issues to MES Managers for immediate production floor support and decision-making.
• Coordinate system upgrades, patches, security enhancements, and change management activities affecting manufacturing systems.
• Act as the primary point of contact for assigned manufacturing applications and coordinate escalations with Infrastructure, Security, vendors, and HQ organizations when required.

Process Improvement and Optimization

• Analyze manufacturing processes, production data, operational trends, and system utilization to identify improvement opportunities.
• Review production-related incidents and recurring operational issues to identify long-term corrective actions and process improvements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing automation, workflow optimization, Smart Factory capabilities, and manufacturing system enhancements.
• Recommend and support system enhancements that improve productivity, traceability, visibility, quality, and operational efficiency.
• Develop and present improvement proposals based on manufacturing system performance, operational feedback, and business requirements.
• Collaborate with MES Managers, Production, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and IT teams to implement and validate improvement activities.
• Support reporting, dashboard, and analytics initiatives to improve operational decision-making and production performance.

Documentation and Training

• Maintain system documentation including configurations, interfaces, operating procedures, troubleshooting guides, and technical standards.
• Create and update user manuals, support procedures, troubleshooting workflows, and operational work instructions.
• Provide end-user training and technical guidance related to manufacturing systems and Smart Factory applications.
• Support knowledge management activities to ensure continuity of system support and operational best practices.
• Document system incidents, root cause investigations, lessons learned, and improvement activities.
• Ensure system changes, implementations, enhancements, and operational procedures are properly documented and communicated to stakeholders.

AUTHORITY & SCOPE

(This role operates within defined corporate policies and procedures and exercises judgment appropriate to its level of responsibility. The position may influence decisions related to functional operations, processes, or recommendations and elevate matters as required.)

• Own day-to-day coordination for manufacturing system support activities across PE Richmond Hill and BSA2 Ellabell.
• Maintain approved system configurations, workflows, interfaces, reporting structures, and business process alignments.
• Coordinate system issue triage, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and escalation activities across multiple support organizations.
• Support and execute manufacturing system changes, enhancements, upgrades, and deployments through established change management processes.
• Coordinate support priorities, implementation schedules, and operational coverage across both manufacturing plants.
• Recommend improvements related to application performance, reliability, maintainability, and operational effectiveness.
• Support governance activities related to Smart Factory and manufacturing support applications across MNAe.

Working Conditions

• Primary work location may be either PE Richmond Hill or BSA2 Ellabell based on business and operational requirements.
• Regular travel between PE Richmond Hill and BSA2 Ellabell is required.
• Work schedules may be adjusted to support production schedules, implementation activities, maintenance windows, second-shift operations, and critical production issues.
• Occasional off-hours, weekend, and holiday support may be required during system incidents, deployments, upgrades, or go-live activities.
• Frequent interaction with manufacturing operations and production floor personnel is required.
• Must be able to respond to production-related system incidents and operational issues in a timely manner based on business requirements.
