Job summary

The annual salary range for this role is $140,000.00 – $207,200.00, with an excellent benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of coaching and consulting experience.
  • Deep understanding of wealth management, including product knowledge and regulation.
  • Proven experience coaching senior leaders in a sales environment.
  • Strong record as a coach and accountability partner through high-impact engagements.
  • Experience applying consulting-style approaches to improve team effectiveness.
  • Must hold SIE and Series 7 licenses or obtain them within 120 days.

Job Summary

The Performance Coach will support Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management by coaching Financial Advisors, advisory teams, and Market Leadership teams to increase productivity, enhance client experience, and drive business growth. The role involves research, content development, and program execution related to organization design and best practices.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver customized coaching and consulting to a segment of the advisor field using Merrill tools, standards, and technologies to drive advisor effectiveness.
  • Facilitate high‑value peer communities and team‑building experiences, leveraging a blended learning approach and the Elite Growth Practice framework.
  • Partner with Market Executives to support high‑impact local programming that champions adoption of key strategies.
  • Engage advisors prime for development by providing education on PMG resources, workshops, and tools.
  • Collaborate with fellow Performance Coaches and PMG partners to support 1:1 coaching, peer‑group facilitation, enterprise projects, and emerging priorities.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of coaching and consulting experience.
  • Deep understanding of wealth management, including product knowledge, regulation, industry trends, and firm‑wide initiatives.
  • Proven experience coaching senior leaders in a sales environment; experience coaching Financial Advisors and/or advisor teams preferred.
  • Strong record as a coach and accountability partner through high‑impact 1:1 and group engagements.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in practice management, including:
    • Client acquisition and retention
    • Teaming and organizational design
    • Practice succession planning
    • Advisor productivity and census growth
    • Leadership and practice operations
  • Ability to develop and execute growth strategies and tactical action plans to improve sales leadership performance.
  • Experience applying consulting‑style approaches to improve team effectiveness, structure, and execution.
  • Experience translating research insights into practical coaching content, tools, and programs.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills with the ability to partner effectively with senior leadership.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority and drive adoption of strategies.
  • Familiarity with goals‑based wealth management, advisor team structures, and client experience models.
  • Experience presenting to and facilitating audiences ranging from 10 to several hundred participants.
  • Must be able to travel at least 40%.
  • Must hold SIE and Series 7 licenses or obtain them within 120 days.

Pay range: $140,000.00 – $207,200.00 annualized salary, based on experience, education, and skill set.
Discretionary incentive eligible. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on performance and contributions.
