Role Specifics

As a Merrill Advisor Development Program – Financial Advisor, you will work with high‑net‑worth individuals to identify client needs, develop relationships, review financial goals, and deliver comprehensive recommendations that align with the goals of both existing and prospective clients. You will be mentored by experienced Merrill Financial Advisor Teams to build upon your experience and promote portfolio growth.

Key activities include:

  • Developing a book of business to meet and exceed performance hurdles
  • Prioritizing sourcing prospective clients, capitalizing on referrals, and executing highly customized solutions
  • Recommending suitable investment products and services based on objectives, resources, risk profile and preferences
  • Balancing investment growth, referral activities, client follow‑up, prospect building, compliance and personal development
  • Managing resources to run a productive practice
  • Seeking specialist expertise to identify planning and investment strategies for clients
  • Completing mandated training, performance goals and continuing education requirements

  • Collaborate with core banking and investment partners to meet virtually all financial needs.
Responsibilities
  • Handle inbound inquiries from leads regarding Merrill offerings
  • Position the extensive capabilities of Merrill and Bank of America
  • Collect client profile data and follow standard KYC procedures to open accounts as appropriate
  • Act as interim Financial Advisor, recommending suitable products and services based on client objectives and risk profile
  • Document all client interactions and opportunities accurately within Salesforce
Required Qualifications
  • Currently holds Series 7 and 66 (or 63 and 65 in lieu of 66) licenses
  • Minimum of one year experience in the financial services industry and/or a sales environment where goals were met or exceeded
  • Minimum of one year experience in the investments industry, including investment training and in‑depth knowledge of investment products and services
  • Proven ability to engage and influence others, and to build trust and credibility quickly
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship‑building skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to assess needs and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Collaborative team player with strong listening and probing skills
  • Goal‑ and results‑oriented with an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Ability to source clients through extensive prospecting and networking
  • Comfortable in a compensation structure tied to performance

Legal & Regulatory Information

This position is subject to SAFE Act registration requirements. Employees engaged in residential loan mortgage originations must register with the federal registry system and remain in good standing. Failure to obtain and/or maintain SAFE Act registration may result in immediate termination. The position is restricted from hiring individuals with certain specified criminal history for the following regulations: FDIC, Safe Act, Loan Originators, and FINRA.

Compensation

Location: US – CA – Pasadena – 800 E Colorado Blvd (CA 9810)

Pay Range: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 annualized salary. Compensation may be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Eligibility: Formulaic incentive plan with monthly, quarterly and/or annual incentive opportunities based on performance metrics. Employees are eligible for incentives as detailed by the specific line of business incentive plan provisions.
