Job summary

Sutherland is seeking a versatile full-stack engineer to design, develop, and deploy modern web applications using React and Node.js. You will build scalable RESTful APIs, craft responsive UIs, and ensure secure, well-tested code within an Agile environment.

You will collaborate with Product, Design, and DevOps, modernize legacy systems, and stay current with AI-assisted development trends. Strong SOLID knowledge and cloud/CI/CD experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/Engineering/IS.
• Proven experience with Node.js and React in production-grade apps.
• Proficiency in HTML/CSS/JS with SCSS/LESS.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs; GraphQL is a plus.
• Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, cloud-native development, and Docker/Kubernetes.
• Experience with datalayers (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis).
• Strong understanding of software architecture, SOLID, and security best practices.
• Familiarity with observability tools (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus).
• Experience integrating AI/ML tools (GitHub Copilot, OpenAI API) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and ownership from design to deployment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy full stack applications using modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Node.js).
• Build and maintain robust, scalable RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Develop responsive front-end UIs integrated with system APIs.
• Ensure code adheres to industry best practices, coding standards, and is well-documented.
• Write and maintain automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests (Jest, Playwright).
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and DevOps teams.
• Architect and implement secure, high-performance systems with DevSecOps practices.
• Refactor and modernize legacy systems while preserving business continuity.
• Stay up to date with web tech, AI-assisted tooling, and industry trends.
• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and retrospectives in an Agile team.
