Job summary

Mercy Retirement & Care Center in Oakland is seeking a Security Guard to help protect residents and the campus. You will patrol the grounds, lock doors, escort staff and residents as needed, and respond quickly to emergencies to maintain a safe environment.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, and a California Guard Card (BSIS). Prior security experience is preferred; evening/weekend availability may be required, and background checks will be conducted.

Qualifications

• California Guard Card (BSIS) must be held.
• Prior experience as a security officer preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide security for the campus by ensuring doors are locked and walking the grounds.
• Complete light maintenance requests as needed.
• Escort residents or fellow team members to vehicles as needed.
• Assist with emergency response procedures, ensuring compliance with state/local guidelines.
• Promote Transforming Age's Mission, Vision, Values in all duties.

Our Security Guard:

• Provide security for the campus by ensuring doors are locked and walking the grounds
• CAs needed, complete light maintenance requests
• Escort residents or fellow team members to vehicles as needed.
• Assist with emergency response procedures, ensuring full compliance with state/local, and community guidelines.
• Promote the Mission, Vision, Values of Transforming Age in all areas of responsibility

What you need to succeed!

• High School Diploma or GED
• Prior experience as a security officer preferred.
• In our California facilities, must meet hold a California Guard Card from BSIS.
• May require occasional evening, Saturday, or Sunday availability
• Must complete a background check and other state/local required pre-employment screening, which may include drug screen, fingerprint, physical, or other necessary items.

Physical Requirements: Ability to walk around campus/community for extended periods of time. May require occasional evening, Saturday, or Sunday availability
