Reporting to the VP of Merchandising, this individual will own the TEAMS assortment across Women’s and Men’s, with a clear understanding of how Core, Limited Edition, and account-specific opportunities should work together. The Merchant will partner closely with the dedicated TEAMS Planner and TEAMS leadership to monitor the business, manage inventory, and recommend assortment strategies that support account needs and long-term growth.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is comfortable working independently, building new processes, and navigating an evolving business. They must be able to balance customer feedback with brand priorities, operational feasibility, and the need to create a scalable wholesale model.

What you’ll do:
  • Own the TEAMS merchandising strategy and assortment across Women’s and Men’s, balancing Core, Limited Edition, and account-specific opportunities.
  • Build seasonal assortments aligned with the broader FIGS product strategy, product calendar, and evolving account needs.
  • Partner with the dedicated TEAMS Planner to review sales, inventory, demand, and product performance and recommend actions to support the business.
  • Translate sales performance, account feedback, and market insights into actionable assortment, inventory, and product recommendations.
  • Establish and continuously improve scalable processes for assortment planning, line reviews, customization requests, and cross-functional handoffs.
  • Manage customization requests within established guardrails and recommend when processes or parameters need to evolve.
  • Create a clear process for capturing, organizing, and prioritizing feedback from TEAMS accounts.
  • Identify opportunities for new styles, colors, or product solutions based on recurring customer needs and broader business potential.
  • Serve as the product expert for TEAMS, partnering in customer meetings and clearly communicating product details, assortment rationale, availability, and process.
  • Lead seasonal and quarterly business reviews and hindsights, translating key learnings into future assortment strategies.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Planning, Design, Product Development, Production, Operations, Data Analytics, and TEAMS to deliver assortments on time.
  • Prepare assortment tools, product presentations, and supporting materials for internal and customer-facing milestone meetings.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of merchandising experience within apparel, including ownership of an assortment or category from strategy through execution.
  • Wholesale, B2B, corporate uniform, or account-based merchandising experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of assortment architecture, product lifecycle, inventory management, and seasonal line planning.
  • Strong analytical and retail math skills, with the ability to translate sales, inventory, customer, and market data into clear recommendations.
  • Ability to distinguish between individual customer requests and scalable opportunities for the broader business.
  • Strong product instincts and the ability to balance brand vision, customer needs, and commercial performance.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional influencing skills, including the confidence to speak about product and process in customer-facing meetings.
  • Ability to work independently, build new processes, and manage multiple priorities within an evolving business.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets; experience with Looker, Tableau, Shopify, or similar platforms is preferred. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
Who You Are
  • A builder who is energized by the opportunity to shape a new role, process, and business function.
  • A self-starter who takes initiative, identifies gaps, and brings forward solutions.
  • Both product-driven and analytically rigorous.
  • Comfortable operating independently while maintaining strong cross-functional partnerships.
  • Curious about customers and able to translate feedback into meaningful business opportunities.
  • Detail-oriented while maintaining a clear view of the broader strategy.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working through ambiguity in a fast-paced, growing organization.
