Spanning five powerhouse categories—Ace Hardware and Tools for every nut, bolt, and power tool imaginable; the Rental & Repair Center to keep projects moving without breaking the bank; the Highlands Garden Center bursting with plants, soil, and green-thumb guidance; the Lawn & Sprinkler Center for flawless outdoor irrigation and landscape solutions; and the Grillin and Chillin Center stocked with premium BBQ grills and all the accessories for perfect backyard cookouts—Big Tool Box remains the go-to destination for contractors, gardeners, grill masters, and DIYers alike.Job Summary* Own the visual presentation and planogram execution for the entire store (or assigned departments) by auditing planogram integrity, building compelling displays, executing price changes and ad sets, monitoring out-of-stocks, reporting ordering issues, and adjusting impulse areas to current sales trends.* Transform aisles, endcaps, and check-lane displays into high-impact sales drivers while ensuring 100% corporate and vendor compliance.* Full-time role with creative freedom, planogram software access, RF gun, and direct influence on store profitability.* Praise worthy customer service is our goal in every customer interaction.Key Responsibilities* Auditing Planogram Integrity + Conduct daily/weekly planogram audits using JDA/Space Planning, Apollo, or printed POGs; verify facings, modular spacing, shelf tags, and clip-strip placement. + Photograph non-compliant sections and correct on the spot; escalate chronic drift to department leads. + Maintain 98%+ planogram compliance store-wide through scheduled resets and spot fixes.* Merchandising Compelling Displays + Build high-impact endcaps, sidekicks, freestanding displays, and cross-merchandise zones (e.g., grill + rubs + charcoal pyramid, paint + tape + drop cloths). + Create themed seasonal displays (spring garden, tailgate, holiday gift) with props, lighting, and bold signage. + Refresh impulse areas weekly based on sales trends: rotate top-selling candy, gloves, chapstick, or flashlights near registers.* Price Changes & Ad Set Execution + Execute weekly ad sets: tear down old, build new endcaps, hang ceiling banners, place floor graphics. + Complete price changes via RF gun: remove old tags, print/apply new shelf labels, update POS overrides. + Verify “As Advertised” hot spots are fully stocked and signed.* Monitoring Out-of-Stocks & Reporting Ordering Issues + Identify and report ordering issues to management (systemic zeros, discontinued items, vendor shorts, min/max errors). + Work with Inventory/Receiving to expedite hot freight to the floor same day.* Impulse Area & Trend Adjustments + Analyze POS impulse reports weekly; adjust check-lane and queue-line displays to fastest movers (seasonal candy, batteries, gift cards, tools). + Rotate front-aisle “grab-and-go” displays based on weather, events, or local trends (ice melt → sunscreen → school supplies). + Test new impulse layouts and measure lift; present findings to management.* General Support + Assist with major resets, new store sets, vendor blitzes. + Photograph completed displays for social media, corporate submissions, and district competitions. + Train department staff on basic merchandising standards and tag placement. + All other duties as assigned by store management.Required Qualifications and Skills* Education + High school diploma or GED equivalent.* Experience + 1+ years retail merchandising/visual display or planogram execution; hardware/garden experience a plus.* Skills & Abilities + Exceptional eye for color, balance, and brand-consistent aesthetics. + Mastery of planogram software (JDA, Apollo, Space), RF gun price changes, and label printers. + Data-driven—reads sales reports and turns trends into impulse gold. + Independent worker who owns projects from teardown to photo-ready finish. + Basic math for facings, price batches, and coverage calculations.* Physical Requirements + Lift/carry up to 50 lbs repeatedly (cases, display fixtures). + Climb 6–12 ft ladders; bend, reach, kneel for full shift (often early-morning or overnight). + Push/pull fully stocked carts and pallet jack displays. + Age 18 years or older* Other + Creative flair balanced with strict corporate compliance. + Flexible availability for ad changeovers and resets. + Passion for making customers stop and say “I need that!”## QualificationsRequired Education: - High school diploma Required Experience: - 1+ years of retail experience - Experience with price changes - Direct knowledge of merchandising techniques Preferred Experience: - 3+ years of retail experience - 3+ years of experience in pricing and merchandising Required Skills and Abilities: - Proficiency in MS Office - Ability to work independently - Strong time management skills - Expertise in merchandising - Accuracy in counting - Precision in pricing
