Job summary

American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. in Pittsburgh is seeking a Merchandising Intern for Summer 2027 to learn how an assortment is created from concept to production and into customers' hands. You will work with a Merchant in AE or Aerie and gain hands-on experience across analytics, planning, and product flow.

This 10-week program includes on-the-job training, classroom learning, and opportunities for a full-time offer through the Assistant Merchant Training Program upon successful completion.

Qualifications

• Rising senior pursuing a business-related degree at a four-year college.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA required.
• Strong interest in retail, trends, and business analytics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Local to Pittsburgh for the 10-week internship.
• Proficient in MS Excel and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing daily sales recaps and analyze performance trends.
• Conduct competitor analysis and comp shopping to identify product and market trends.
• Gain exposure to the business recap process and learn how to craft clear, data-driven trend stories.
• Support sample trafficking using internal systems, check-ins, and coordination with relevant teams.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to gather a holistic view of the business.
• Present milestone projects and final intern project with insights to Merchandising leadership.
• Attend and contribute to classes, team meetings, connecting learnings to real-world applications.
