Job summary

Acosta Group is seeking a part-time Retail Coverage Merchandiser to support client initiatives across a San Diego territory. You will maintain product displays, assist with launches and promotions, and ensure proper stock rotation and planogram compliance.

The role requires strong attention to detail and customer service, plus the ability to work independently with tablets and store personnel, while traveling to assigned accounts and adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Prior retail experience preferred but not required.
• Strong skills in attention to detail, customer service and communication.
• Interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
• Comfortable using tablets and web-based applications.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to obtain/maintain U.S. DoD security clearance within timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Cover a set territory of retail stores to perform merchandising and support client initiatives.
• Assist store managers with retail programs, including new product launches and promotions.
• Maintain full distribution and display of products, including planogram compliance.
• Perform audits, check date codes, and maintain modular integrity.
• Collect and report data from store visits using a company-provided tablet.
• Advocate for clients through sales opportunities and relationship-building with store personnel.
• Follow store policies and provide expertise for client products.
• Consult with management to meet objectives and report observations.
• Stand, walk, and work in stores for extended periods; comply with safety guidelines.
• Comply with security protocols and reporting requirements as required by DoD.

Description And Requirements

The Retail Coverage Merchandiser provides retail sales merchandising, completes special projects, and builds strong relationships with store managers to drive sales select brands. This role is responsible for maintaining merchandising standards, supporting retail initiatives, and ensuring product availability. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to work independently while building strong business relationships with store personnel.

What will you do?

• Stand, walk, and work in stores for extended periods while adhering to safety guidelines.
• Employees must comply with all security protocols, reporting requirements, and periodic reinvestigations as required by the Department of Defense.

Experience and Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance. Employment is contingent upon successful clearance adjudication.
• Need to obtain the clearance within a designated timeframe.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 30 pounds.
• Work in cold environments as needed.
• Travel within the assigned territory is required.
