Job summary

Associated-Grocer is hiring a full-time Merchandiser to deliver excellent rack services and merchandising support to Retailers in the Baton Rouge area. You will stock, merchandise, and manage new product introductions and promotional displays for contracted clients.

Required is a high school education or equivalent, with the ability to work 32-40 hours per week, and a valid driver's license. This role emphasizes reliability, product knowledge, and strong retailer relationships.

Qualifications

• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a retail setting.
• Dependable, with reliable timekeeping and task completion.
• Capability to reach and handle products using a two-step stool.

Responsibilities

• Order, stock, and merchandize HBC/GM departments in member/retailer stores.
• Manage new product introductions and promote displays for clients.
• Provide merchandising support and maintain shelf integrity across stores.
• Verify expiration dates and ensure correct product rotation.
• Assist in restocking, checking orders, and correcting shipping errors.
• Build relationships with member/retailer partners and support savings.

Job description

We are currently hiring a full-time Merchandiser to deliver exceptional rack services and merchandising support to our Retailers in the Baton Rouge area. In this role, you will:

• Order, stock, and merchandise HBC/GM departments in member/retailer stores
• Manage new product introductions
• Promote and sell displays for contracted clients of Merchandising Services

This full-time position requires a commitment of approximately 32-40 hours per week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Other duties may be assigned.

• Order HBC/GM merchandise for member/retailers stores. Verify expiration dates on all product received and on shelf.
• Check in the entire order. This includes cases and totes.
• Stocking, Rotating, Pulling Discontinued Items and Dusting all HBC/GM departments in member/retailer stores each time the store is worked.
• Notify your supervisor and/or supervisor of any errors in shipping and/or out dated product.
• Fill out Complete and Accurate Credit Return forms
• Make sure private label products are merchandised to the right of the comparable national brand.
• Develop a good working relationship with member/retailer.
• Work in new items and replace slow and non-selling items.

Education and/or Experience

No less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• The employee must maintain a valid Driver's License.
• The employee must maintain an appropriate motor vehicle driving record.
