Job summary

• Foster business relationships with store personnel through routine follow-up on requests, pricing, programs, opportunities, and upcoming activities.

Overview

Merchandiser is responsible for presenting products in a way that attracts customers at our customer retail locations. This route services multiple bulk accounts by merchandising approved products and packages using safe handling techniques and following quality guidelines. Ability to follow plan sets and planograms and communicate with store management and cross-functional personnel.

The route will service customers in Clayton and Raleigh, NC and surrounding areas. Mileage reimbursement is provided for travel between stores.

Responsibilities

• Fill, merchandise and rotate products on display and the shelf according to procedures and special programs
• Physically move products from the backroom to the display
• Create and distribute point-of-sale materials on display and shelf; rotate product; maintain Fastlane merchandisers and vendors; verify vendor operations as needed
• Organize and maintain back room by stacking and arranging product by package and flavor; manage returns of empty pallets and shells; address damaged or outdated product
• Foster business relationships with store personnel through routine follow-up on requests, pricing, programs, opportunities, and upcoming activities

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Effective communication skills including listening, speaking, and writing
• Prior customer service experience in a retail setting is preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to satisfy diverse customer needs
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment (lifting up to 50 lbs repeatedly)
• Ability to work reliably and independently with minimal supervision

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid in-state driver’s license
• Excellent driving history
• Proof of insurance coverage meeting requirements (liability/property damage) as specified from first day of employment

The work environment varies and may include exposure to weather conditions, coolers, and customer storage areas which may be non-temperature controlled.
