Job summary

Alsum Produce, Inc. is seeking a full-time team member to receive, store, and distribute produce and related items. You will fill shelves, assist customers, and ensure proper inventory and display readiness across two IL locations.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a forklift license (or willingness to obtain one). Strong communication, organization, and merchandising knowledge are essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively with the merchandising and sales

• Basic understanding of or ability to quickly learn company product codes and terminology.
• Thorough understanding of merchandising policies and procedures.
• Good analytical skills and ability to make sound judgments relative to inventory.
• Represent Alsum Companies to external customers with professionalism.
• Self-motivated and able to function as part of a team.
• Ability to utilize HRIS software.
• Valid state motor vehicle license with acceptable motor vehicle record.

Responsibilities

• Stock produce or other merchandise.
• Unload materials or equipment.
• Inspect items for damage or defects.
• Rotate product, first in, first out.
• Check backroom stock daily and report to store Produce Manager the need to get all product out on the display floor and report happenings to your immediate supervisor.
• Discuss goods or services information with customer, merchandising team, and/or sales team.
• Attach identification information to products, items, or containers.
• Inspect shipments to ensure correct order fulfillment.
• Monitor inventories of products or materials.
• Set up merchandise displays.
• Remove debris or damaged produce items.
• Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned

Work Schedule & Location:

• Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 6:00 am - 2:00 pm or until job is done
• Supports both Woodman’s locations in Plainfield and North Aurora, IL, with work performed at both locations during each shift. Mileage between locations is reimbursed at the applicable federal mileage rate.
