East Coast Lumber is seeking a Merchandiser for a Full-time position in East Hampstead, NH. The role focuses on maintaining the appearance and organization of the sales floors in a busy retail environment.

Excellent customer service, reliability, and ability to learn product knowledge are essential. The successful candidate will be friendly with customers and co-workers, able to work outdoors/indoors in all weather, and willing to operate equipment like a lift truck or electric pallet jack.

East Coast Lumber is seeking a Merchandiser for a Full-time position.

About Us

East Coast Lumber is a full-service professional lumber yard and building supply company located in East Hampstead, NH that has been family owned and operated since 1976. By supplying local builders, remodelers, and homeowners with all their building needs, we have become a preferred supplier of lumber and building materials, kitchen & bath products, builder’s hardware, millwork, and equipment sales, rentals, and service.

The merchandising team is responsible for the critical task of maintaining the appearance and organization of the sales floors. This is a busy and active position that requires professionalism, attention to detail, and good customer service skills. Working with the public in a retail environment is a dynamic environment. It can be both challenging and/or exciting depending on the candidate’s personality.

The successful candidate will be friendly with both customers and co-workers. Have a desire to help others and to learn new concepts, skills, and product knowledge.

Working in a hardware and building material supply store, you will develop skills and knowledge that you will carry with you and in your everyday personal life.

General Requirements

• Must read and speak fluent English, (Bi-lingual in Spanish or Portuguese a plus).
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn new computer skills. (Email, internet searches, learn our internal systems, RF gun experience a plus)
• Able to Lift loads up to 70 lbs. plus work outdoors and indoors in all weather.
• Work on your feet 8 hours a day.
• Must be able and willing to help customers with product questions.
• Must have good organizational, multitasking skills.
• Must be willing and able to operate (or learn to operate) a lift truck and an electric pallet jack.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
