Job summary

Five Below in Marlborough, MA is seeking a Merchandise Manager to lead receiving, stocking, and storefront setups. You will manage displays, signage, and seasonal resets following corporate guidelines, ensuring items are placed quickly and accurately.

In this role you will supervise store associates, participate in onboarding and training, and act as Manager on Duty to handle daily operations, cash accountability, and customer service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• College experience preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of management experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and stay composed under pressure.
• Creative thinking to drive merchandising and sales.

Responsibilities

• Oversees receiving, unpacking, and organizing new stock for quick placement on sales floor.
• Manages setup and maintenance of displays, ensuring accurate signage and promotions per corporate guidelines.
• Responsible for opening/closing the store, securing cash, locking doors, setting alarms, and daily operations.
• Acts as Manager on Duty when needed, handling store operations, staff management, and customer service issues.
• Supports onboarding and ongoing training of associates on store policies, product knowledge, and procedures.
• Drives store sales and controls expenses by optimizing merchandising, staff performance, and customer service.
• Executes market plan with product placement and signage per corporate guidelines; updates promotions regularly.
• Ensures execution of Inventory Integrity process.

Ensures the execution of company Inventory Integrity process**QUALIFICATIONS*** High School Graduate or equivalent* College experience preferred* Minimum 2 years of management experience* Excellent verbal and written communication skills* Ability to multi-task* Creative thinking* Ability to maintain composure under pressure**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS*** Frequently operate cash register* Frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs and places/removes merchandise up to a height of 5-10 feet* Frequently ascend/descend ladders in order to retrieve and put away stock* Frequently position self to kneel, bend, twist, and stoop, including in the stock room and on the sales floor* Frequently communicate and exchange information with customers on the telephone and face-to-face in the store, as well as with managers and coworkers.
