Responsible for assisting with merchandising and freight processing tasks delegated by the Store Manager. Assist with hiring, training, and developing store associates as delegated by the Store Manager.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assist with all store functions and daily activities as directed by the Store Manager.
2. Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
3. Help protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
4. Follow all policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
5. Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
6. Keep all store areas, including the stockroom and sales floor, in company-standard condition, including recovery.
7. When the Store Manager is absent, take supervisory responsibility for all hourly associates.
8. Process all SSC Corporate directives and related store communications.
9. Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD policies.
10. Manage freight flow and meet or exceed productivity standards.
11. Assist with ordering, stocking, and maintaining merchandise, including frozen and refrigerated items.
12. Maintain stockroom organization.
13. Ensure the sales floor is optimized daily for sales effectiveness.
14. Plan and merchandise using Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales-effective items.
15. Assist in planning and executing monthly Sales Planners.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

1. Prior retail and management experience preferred.
2. Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
3. Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
4. Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
