Job summary

Michaels is seeking a Merchandise Assistant at our Irving Support Center to help ensure smooth product flow and effective merchandising execution. You will assist with item setup, PO tracking, and promotional execution while coordinating with vendors and internal teams.

You will support category strategy, assortment planning, data integrity, and pricing activities, and help track sales, margins, and inventory across channels.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or relevant business experience is required.
• Internship or retail experience is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Excel and comfort with data entry.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Frequent physical movement including standing, stooping, bending, use of ladder at times and lifting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing category strategies by coordinating product and vendor information.

• Maintain documentation and reporting to track category performance.
• Support line reviews and seasonal assortment planning by preparing samples, data, and materials.
• Create, maintain, and track Seasonal POS; manage samples through order management.

• Ensure pricing accuracy across systems and channels, including promotions and markdowns.
• Assist in executing pricing strategies and maintaining price integrity.
• Support merchandising team in tracking sales, margin, and inventory metrics.
• Assist in preparing financial reports.

Key Responsibilities:

• Category Strategy:
  • Assist in the implementation of category strategies by coordinating product and vendor information.
