Qualifications

• 5 to 7 years of accounts payable experience and 2-4 years of supervisory experience.
• Retail experience preferred but not required.
• Considerable knowledge of accounts payable operations with large ERP AP system experience.
• Ability to effectively communicate with management, peers and external parties.
• Ability to lead a team towards a common goal.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work within deadlines and utilize resources to meet those deadlines.
• Ability to recommend staffing needs and hire appropriate resources.
• Ability to work with associates at all levels within the organization.
• Understanding of business, accounting and accounts payable policies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Merchandise Accounts Payable functions and manage departmental personnel.
• Prior to payment processes ensure all transactions and exceptions have been reviewed and verified.
• Analyze data to determine trends and forecasts to assist in Company strategic planning.
• Develop and direct process improvement initiatives and monitoring controls within functional area.
• Escalate and resolve issues proactively.
• Develops, prepares and reviews all monthly reporting deliverables for management use.
• Manage all AP related monthly closing of financial records and postings and ensure monthly reconciliations have been completed in accordance with the month end close schedule.
• Develops, implements and maintains systems, procedures and policies around AP functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines and SOX Controls.
• Develop and maintain partner relationships with Vendor community, Business Units, Supply Chain (DC’s), Buyers and Corporate stakeholders.
• Development of staff for functional areas.
