The merchandising & stocking associate role is a great way to start a fulfilling career at Sam’s Club. This is a fast-paced, physically demanding role that may include moving inventory in the backroom, unloading trucks, fulfilling club pick-up orders, or helping members while stocking shelves. Depending on the shift, duties may include unloading trucks in the summer and stocking ice cream in freezers. It’s like being paid to go to the gym. You will be part of a team focused on ensuring members can find what they need, when they need it.

Responsibilities
  • Provide member service by acknowledging members, identifying needs, guiding self-service technologies, assisting with purchasing decisions, locating merchandise, resolving issues, and promoting products and services.
  • Maintain safety of the facility by conducting safety checks, following forklift spotting procedures, handling and disposing of hazardous materials according to policy, and reporting unsafe situations.
  • Maintain sales floor and merchandise presentation by zoning the area, stocking and organizing merchandise, setting up displays, removing damaged goods, pricing, and identifying shrink or damages.
  • Ensure product quality and rotation, monitor code dating, recalls, and sanitation standards; maintain prominent displays for promotional and seasonal merchandise.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and ethics standards; apply Open Door Policy in daily operations.
  • Complete work assignments by prioritizing tasks, collaborating with managers and coworkers, meeting deadlines, and adapting to change and feedback.
  • Assist with club pick-up orders and staging to ensure correct selection and readiness for customers.

Compensation notes

The hourly wage range for this position is $16.00 to $23.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances (schedule, facility, season, or work performed). Multiple premiums may apply if criteria are met.
