Job summary

Volumod Indy LLC is seeking an HVAC Electrical and Plumbing Supervisor to lead plant employees in off-site modular construction. This role plans, executes, and assigns work, implements policies, and drives improvements in production methods and working conditions.

The MEP Supervisor will lead the workforce to maintain high morale, ensure safety, and balance quality with cost and productivity in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience leading highly effective production teams.

• Effectively communicate and understand both verbal and written instructions.
• An accountable attitude with a commitment to accuracy.
• Experience applying Lean manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement.
• Detail oriented and comfortable with manufacturing process

Responsibilities

• Lead and train employees to support different departments of the build.
• Interviewing, hiring, training, and development of production workers.
• Delegate and prioritize alignment of resources to production areas as needed.
• Exhibit exceptional leadership and communication skills. Driving employee engagement.
• Support quality assurance and continuous improvement processes.
• Balance safety, quality, cost, & productivity to achieve positive results.
• Read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical blueprints.
• Lead and support various construction/production processes as needed including the installation of framing, flooring, ceilings, roofing, windows, doors, etc.
• Lead weekly safety meetings with production team members and promote a safe working environment.
• Lead crew meetings to communication key production topics and engage with the workforce.
• Demonstrate commitment to an injury-free environment and ensure employee adherence to safety program standards.
• Leverage Lean manufacturing principles to drive production team and resource utilization efficiency.

Volumod (Vol-U-mod) is a multi-family modular construction company located on the Far East Side of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Volumod’s team of more than 100 skilled professionals builds apartment buildings and other multi-family housing in sections - called modules - within a heated-and-cooled facility. Position Summary:

Volumod is currently seeking an HVAC Electrical and Plumbing Supervisor. The MEP Supervisor is responsible for leading plant employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment for off-site construction of modular homes. This position plans, executes, and assigns work, implements policies and procedures, and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. This position drives continuous improvement through the plant operation and leads the workforce as necessary to maintain a high level of morale.

Functional Duties:

• Lead and train employees to support different departments of the build.
• Interviewing, hiring, training, and development of production workers.
• Delegate and prioritize alignment of resources to production areas as needed.
• Exhibit exceptional leadership and communication skills. Driving employee engagement.

• Properly operate power tools, and associated equipment.

• Demonstrate commitment to an injury-free environment and ensure employee adherence to safety program standards.

• Offsite / Modular Construction Experience
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in residential, modular and / or multi-family construction

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, stooping, bending.
• May have periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
