Job summary

Kirby Group Engineering is seeking a Senior MEP Project Manager for their operations in the United States, Ohio. The successful candidate will take full ownership of delivering mechanical and electrical packages on large-scale projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a MEP Project Manager on large-scale projects.
  • Strong background in data centre, pharmaceutical, or industrial projects.
  • Experience managing projects in excess of €20M+ MEP scope.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full project lifecycle for mechanical and electrical packages.
  • Manage project cost control, forecasting, and budget performance.
  • Act as the primary interface between Kirby, the client, and key stakeholders.

Role Purpose

As Senior MEP Project Manager, you will take full ownership for the successful delivery of mechanical and electrical packages on large-scale projects. You will be responsible for leading project teams, managing stakeholders, and ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest standards of quality.

Senior MEP Project Manager Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
  • Lead the full project lifecycle
  • Develop and manage project execution plans, programmes, and deliverables
  • Ensure delivery aligns with commercial targets, schedules, and client expectations
  • Drive high-performance standards across multi-disciplinary project teams
Commercial & Programme Management
  • Manage project cost control, forecasting, and budget performance
  • Work closely with commercial teams to manage variations, risks, and opportunities
  • Develop and track short-term and long-term programme milestones
  • Ensure accurate reporting to senior management and stakeholders
Stakeholder & Client Management
  • Act as the primary interface between Kirby, the client, and key stakeholders
  • Chair project meetings, technical workshops, and progress reviews
  • Build strong relationships with clients and supply chain partners
  • Represent Kirby at a senior level in all project communications
People & Team Management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop project teams across engineering, commercial, and site functions
  • Drive collaboration across internal disciplines and external stakeholders
  • Promote a positive, high-performance team culture
  • Take ownership of performance and development of direct reports
Health, Safety & Quality
  • Ensure full compliance with Kirby HSEQ standards and project-specific safety requirements
  • Promote a strong safety culture across all aspects of delivery
  • Oversee implementation of quality control processes
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety and quality performance
Technical & Delivery Oversight
  • Ensure all MEP systems are delivered in line with design, specifications, and client requirements
  • Review and manage engineering deliverables and installation practices
  • Support commissioning, testing, and final handover processes
  • Ensure buildability, coordination, and integration across all services
Requirements – Senior MEP Project Manager
  • Proven experience operating as a MEP Project Manager / Senior PM on large-scale projects
  • Strong background in data centre, pharmaceutical, or industrial projects
  • Experience managing projects in excess of €20M+ MEP scope
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building services systems
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing multi-disciplinary teams
  • Strong commercial awareness and contract management experience
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
