Job summary

Staxmatic is seeking a detail-oriented Project Engineer to support large-scale commercial Mechanical and Plumbing (MEP) construction projects across Texas. This hands-on role works with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors and owners to keep to schedule, budget, and quality from pre-construction through closeout.

You will manage critical project documentation, coordinate submittals and RFIs, assist with procurement and scheduling, and serve as a key link between field operations and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 2-5 years in construction project engineering or coordination on commercial projects.
• Experience reading construction drawings, mechanical plans, and specs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with cross-team coordination.

Responsibilities

• Manage project documentation including contracts, submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, change orders, and compliance records.
• Prepare, log, and expedite submittal packages for MEP systems with timely reviews.
• Generate, track, and respond to RFIs and coordinate with field and design teams.
• Assist with quantity takeoffs, procurement, and cost controls.
• Maintain up-to-date project schedules and look-ahead plans with PM.
• Support BIM coordination and review of drawings with engineers and field teams.
• Coordinate closeout documentation including O&M manuals and warranty packages.
• Serve as a communication link between field operations and office teams on scope, schedule, and budget.
