Job summary

Flatiron Construction Corp is seeking a Project Engineer to track costs, analyze data and keep our projects on budget. You will collaborate with field crews to review production schedules and resources, ensuring accurate reporting and timely decisions.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in a related field and over five years of MEP construction engineering experience, with strong cost accounting, scheduling and QA knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• 5+ years of MEP construction engineering experience required.
• Experience with cost accounting, estimating and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of design-build or alternative methods.
• Ability to delegate tasks to engineering team.
• Advanced knowledge of contract specifications and QA practices.

Responsibilities

• Meet with engineering and field crews to review production schedule and confirm materials and resources.
• Review shop drawings, design specs, material requirements and project data.
• Provide technical input for project work plan and scheduling.
• Identify budget and schedule risk elements that could affect costs.
• Evaluate daily production, schedule and budget projections.
• Update project schedule weekly for owner and management reporting.
• Prepare and manage a three-week work plan and notify delays with mitigations.
• Manage RFIs.
• Remit accurate project quantities using cost coding.
• Manage invoicing with accounting for materials and subcontractors.
• Review certificates, permits and JHAs.
• Coordinate subcontractor work methods, schedules and crews.
