Job summary

Gilbane Building Company is seeking an MEP Professional - Data Center to support buyout, coordinate field installation, and lead MEP systems on a hyperscale data center project in New Florence, MO and Charlotte, NC.

You will collaborate with project teams to ensure safe, on-time delivery while upholding Gilbane's values of caring, integrity and teamwork. Opportunities for training and leadership development are available through Gilbane University.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree required in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong field coordination and supervision experience preferred.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification is desired/required.

Responsibilities

  • Review MEP scopes of work and equipment pre-purchases for accuracy.
  • Assist in development of MEP construction and commissioning schedule.
  • Enforce quality controls policies and inspections for MEP trades.
  • Interface with commissioning agent to ensure commissioning meets expectations.
  • Coordinate submittals and RFIs for MEP disciplines.
  • Coach and mentor junior team members and support a positive work environment.

Responsibilities


  • Reviews MEP Scopes of Work and equipment pre-purchases for accuracy and completeness

  • Assists in the development of the MEP Construction and Commissioning Schedule

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

  • 3-5 years related field experience

  • Previous experience on hyperscale data center construction projects is desired

  • OSHA 30 hour certified

  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES


  • Ability to work in a team environment and manage project subcontractors

  • Ability to collaborate on a daily basis with the project team

  • Ability to demonstrate both engineering and field supervision capabilities

  • MEP construction-document and drawing literate, with knowledge of all phases of construction

  • Ability to adapt to changing needs by utilizing excellent problem-solving skills

  • Strong knowledge and appreciation of construction safety processes and ability to enforce the project safety plan
