Summary

Mortenson is currently seeking an MEP Estimator II who will be responsible for gathering, calculating, and compiling data to produce project estimates. For smaller projects, this position will also prepare the full estimate.

Responsibilities

1. Create Project Estimates
2. Complete quantity takeoffs and material summations
3. Solicit trade partners, obtain bid estimates, and prepare vendor proposal comparisons and estimate summary sheets
4. Assist in preparing, organizing, and coordinating RFP documents and schedules, utilizing schedule information for estimating schedule-driven items
5. Determine pricing options and the appropriate price for projects
6. Support lead estimator in data entry into estimating software
7. Perform archive filing and gather historical cost data
8. Participate in plan and estimate review meetings, site investigations, and other project reviews
9. Gather information from local government and private entities affecting the project (permits, hearings, etc.)
10. Manage Addendum logs and documents from clients
11. Provide training and guidance to new estimators and engineers
12. Solicit new bidders and gather documents for future projects
13. Assist in training estimators and interns

Qualifications

1. Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Estimating, Civil or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related experience
2. Minimum three years of construction operations experience
3. Valid driver’s license
4. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
5. Mathematical proficiency
6. Familiarity with estimating software: ISqFt, ICE/Bid2Win, OST, Bluebeam/PDF, Google Earth
7. Professional attitude with strong customer service skills
8. Ability to interpret and communicate policies

The salary range is $90,300 - $121,900, with higher ranges for specific locations. Actual pay depends on experience and location.
