Job summary

Tom Green & Company Engineers is seeking an early-career MEP Electrical Engineer (EIT) in Austin, TX for a full-time role. You will design electrical systems under PE supervision, work on data center projects, and participate in forensic investigations while gaining hands-on experience.

As you progress toward your PE, you will take on greater ownership of projects. The firm offers profit distributions and a pathway to ownership after three years, with health benefits and retirement options.

Qualifications

• Passed FE exam or EIT certification, with PE in sight over the next 1–2 years.
• Hands-on building electrical design experience at an MEP/A-E firm, including calculations behind drawings.
• Proficiency with Revit or AutoCAD for electrical design and ability to work in Austin office.

Responsibilities

• Design building electrical systems under review by experienced PEs: load calculations, one-lines, panel schedules, fault current and voltage drop, lighting and specs.
• Work on data center projects and support forensic investigations.
• Visit job sites to observe how designs are built and, as you earn your PE, assume ownership of projects.

About Tom Green & Company Engineers

TGCE is an MEP engineering firm founded in Austin in 1985. About 30 of us work together in our Austin office, and we have completed more than 1,600 projects across higher education, healthcare, research, K-12, civic, hospitality, and historic preservation, for clients such as the University of Texas and MD Anderson. Beyond design, we provide commissioning, troubleshooting, and forensic services. We run the business conservatively, with no debt, and our average employee has been here about ten years.

The role

You will design building electrical systems under the review of experienced PEs: load calculations, one-lines, panel schedules, fault current and voltage drop, lighting, and specifications. You will work on data center projects, support forensic investigations, and get out on job sites to see how your designs are built. As you earn your PE, you will take on ownership of your own projects.

What we are looking for:
