Job summary
dfwHR is assisting an Austin client with an immediate need for an MEP Construction Inspector on a large healthcare project. The role provides onsite inspection and quality oversight of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
The inspector will review drawings, verify work against specs, document findings, coordinate with contractors and engineers, and support testing, commissioning, and closeout activities.
Qualifications
- Hospital/healthcare construction experience required.
- 10 years of hands-on knowledge across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disciplines.
- Strong understanding of drawings, specifications, and building codes.
Responsibilities
- Perform field inspections across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction
- Inspect HVAC, plumbing, piping, electrical, and related building systems
- Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements to verify work is being completed according to design
- Monitor installation quality and identify deficiencies or noncompliant work
- Document inspection findings and communicate issues to appropriate project stakeholders
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, project management, and other members of the construction team
- Monitor corrective work and verify deficiencies have been properly resolved
- Support testing, commissioning, and project closeout activities as needed
- Maintain accurate inspection reports and field documentation
- Ensure construction complies with applicable codes, project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements

- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and applicable building codes
- Ability to identify deficiencies and effectively communicate corrective requirements
- Strong documentation and reporting skills
- Ability to work effectively with contractors, engineers, owners, and project leadership
- Prior experience on large scale healthcare construction projects strongly preferred
