Are you a new or recently graduated veterinarian looking for a structured mentorship program tailored to your pace, experience, and career goals? Or are you an experienced veterinarian with a passion for emergency medicine who wants to expand your skills and confidence?

Join the Animal Emergency & Specialty Center of Chattanooga’s ER Veterinary Mentorship Program, specifically designed to help veterinarians develop their skills and grow their careers in emergency veterinary medicine.

No prior ER experience is required, just a passion for learning, a desire to grow, and an interest in diving into the exciting world of emergency medicine. Through hands‑on learning, dedicated mentorship, and individualized support, this program offers a unique opportunity to build your clinical skills, gain confidence, and take the next step in your veterinary career.

What to expect:
  • Tailored Mentorship: Flexible 3, 6, and 12-month initiatives designed to meet your pace and goals. Scheduling typical consists of three 12-hour shifts per week.
  • Hands-On Experience: Work alongside our emergency, surgery, and critical care teams in examination rooms and with independent workups.
  • Access to Advanced Training Opportunities: You'll have access to 1-1 coaching, continuing education, and advanced clinical training designed to help you grow with confidence and achieve your career goals. We provide opportunities for ongoing professional development throughout the year, including:
    • Global FAST Scan Ultrasound
    • 3-Day Spay & Neuter Training
    • Guaranteed attendance to IVECCS during the year of your program
  • Diverse Caseload: Gain clinical autonomy and manage cases not commonly encountered in other hospital settings.
  • Surgical Opportunities: Assist in surgeries by scrubbing in and providing support. Electively observe or participate in specific procedures by being on-call for surgeries.
  • State-of-the-Art Facility: Access the latest equipment and technology to enhance your learning experience.

Emergency medicine is dynamic, offering diverse and challenging cases. With a supportive team and purpose-built training programs, we aim to empower veterinarians to deliver high‑quality emergency care with confidence and skill.

Benefits:
  • Compensation of $100k - 130k while participating in program - upon completion of the program, participants will have the opportunity to earn up to $140k - $160k base salary plus production (negotiable) with an earning potential of $200k+
  • Production is paid out quarterly with no negative accrual!

Our ideal candidate:
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent
  • Passionate about practicing outstanding medicine but also building and fostering a strong team
  • Strong communicator who models a professional and courteous manner with staff and clients
