Job summary

Spotsylvania Animal Hospital in Spotsylvania, Virginia offers a veterinary student externship to enrolled students. The program emphasizes mentorship from experienced veterinarians and opportunities to learn in wellness and dentistry, acupuncture, and holistic medicine.

Externs will gain hands-on experience with basic soft tissue and ophthalmic procedures, supported by in-house lab work, digital radiography, ultrasound, and laser therapy. Housing and travel stipends are provided to offset costs.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an AVMA accredited Veterinary School (VMD or DVM degree path).

Responsibilities

• Mentorship from experienced veterinarians welcoming a student.
• Gain experience in wellness and dentistry.
• Gain experience with holistic medicine including acupuncture.
• Exposure to basic soft tissue and ophthalmic surgeries.
• In-house lab, digital x-ray, ultrasound, and laser therapy facilities.
