Job summary

JD Finish Line in Indianapolis is seeking a Junior Merchandise Planner to assist in developing and executing product plans from merchandise planning through allocation, with a structured development program under a senior mentor. You will learn planning processes and contribute to the department's growth.

You’ll collaborate with buyers to set seasonal plans, forecast receipts, and support stock allocation to ensure right product at the right time and place, while delivering accurate reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail, or Finance from a four-year college or university.
• 1-2 years’ merchandise allocation experience and/or Financial/Product Planning experience.
• Internal JD Finish Line experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development of annual, seasonal, monthly and weekly merchandise plans in cost of goods and units.
• Execute weekly markdown forecasts by collaborating with buyers to agree on SKUs and price points.
• Execute comprehensive department financial and product strategies.
• Help Planners develop pre-season plans and recommend purchase/investment quantities and forecast receipts.
• Analyze historic performance and planned strategies to identify opportunities or risks.
• Develop, maintain and update tools/reports to support the business needs.
• Support product allocations to ensure right stock, right place, right quantities, right stores, right time.
• Participate in assortment development and provide data/analysis for decisions.
• Collaborate on strategies to address liabilities and liquidate profitably.
• Provide periodic reporting on business performance.
