Blue Ridge Equine Clinic is offering a 2027 Equine Veterinary Internship designed for motivated veterinary graduates to build confidence, sharpen clinical skills, and gain hands-on experience across a diverse equine caseload. Located in Virginia’s horse country, the program blends ambulatory and hospital-based medicine with mentorship from experienced veterinarians.

Qualifications

• DVM degree required.
• Compassionate and team-oriented approach to veterinary medicine.
• Strong interest in equine practice and continued clinical development.
• Ability to lift 40+ lbs.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on experience under supervision across a broad equine caseload.
• Collaborate with experienced veterinarians on diagnosis, treatment, and client communication.
• Participate in lameness evaluations, emergencies, reproduction, internal medicine, surgery, diagnostics and preventive care.
• Develop clinical skills and progressively greater independence with team support.
• AMBULATORY + HOSPITAL experience to build a well-rounded foundation.
