NewYork-Presbyterian is seeking a Mental Health Worker for The Horizon Program at the Westchester Behavioral Health Center in White Plains, NY. This full-time role operates a day/evening rotating shift and requires on-site presence with weekend rotation at NYP/Westchester Behavioral Health.

The role emphasizes patient safety, compassionate care, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to support recovery and improve outcomes.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required (American Heart Association).
  • Maintenance of Basic Life Support certification is required.
  • Commitment to continued learning and orientation completion is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Promote patient safety through vigilant observation, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Build therapeutic relationships that support recovery and reinforce patient-centered care.
  • Assist patients with daily activities while encouraging independence, dignity, and engagement in their treatment plans.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to signs of distress, anxiety, or behavioral changes.
  • Record vital signs and other key clinical information that informs multidisciplinary treatment decisions.
  • Contribute to a culture of compassion, collaboration, and continuous improvement in patient outcomes.

Mental Health Worker – The Horizon Program/4N - Day/Evenings

In this role, you will:
  • Promote patient safety through vigilant observation, monitoring, and reporting.

  • Assist patients with daily activities while encouraging independence, dignity, and engagement in their treatment plans.

This is an exceptional opportunity to gain valuable frontline experience in behavioral health while making a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and their families.

This is a full-time 8 hours, day/evening rotating shift position (7:00 am - 11:30 pm), includes working rotating weekends (Saturday/Sunday) at the NYP/Westchester Behavioral Health.

PreferredCriteria
  • Ideal candidates aspire to careers or degrees in social work or psychiatry.
  • A college degree and at least one year of psychiatry-related experience
Required Criteria
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association - AHA)
  • Maintenance of Basic Life Support certification

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.

$30.65-$36.15/Hourly
