Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking an ER Mental Health Worker to deliver mental health services in the emergency department, including assessments, referrals, and coordination with outpatient services and involuntary commitments as needed.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field, at least two years of post-Bachelor's mental health experience, and strong communication and computer skills. Overnight shift from 11:00 pm to 7:30 am is included.

The ER Mental Health Worker delivers Mental Health Services to patients in the emergency room, including the assessment, referral, and resource process to Outpatient services, CCIS, Voluntary hospitalization, or Involuntary Commitment.

****Over night shift - 11:00 pm to 7:30 am

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field. Minimum of two years of post-Bachelor's experience in mental health or State of New Jersey Division of Mental Health Services approved equivalent experience.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

• Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Licenses and Certifications Preferred:

• ACSW preferred.

• Requires flexibility in order to respond to changes in priorities, special project assignments, and emergency situations.

• Manage time appropriately to meet patient and department needs.

Minimum rate of $24.81 Hourly
