Job summary

Akron Children’s Hospital is seeking a Mental Health Therapist I to join the Psychiatric Intake Response Center (PIRC) onsite. You will apply graduate-level counseling and social work skills under supervision and complete the 3,000 hours required for licensure endorsement to practice independently.

This is a full-time, 2nd shift position with a 36-hour work week. Responsibilities include psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, case management, and collaboration with hospital and community

Qualifications

• Master's degree required in Social Work or Clinical Mental/Behavioral Health Counseling.
• Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) as preferred.
• Must meet credentialing/privileging criteria within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform psychosocial assessments for patients and families and triage care.
• Communicate assessment findings and care plans with the team through documentation and rounds.
• Provide case management and collaborate with hospital and community professionals.
• Utilize trauma, risk assessment tools and crisis intervention when indicated.
• Ensure timely, ethical documentation and participate in program add-ons (CBT/DBT).
