Nexus Family Healing in Eugene, Oregon, seeks a Mental Health Therapist for a new 14-bed psychiatric residential facility opening this summer. You will oversee treatment, engage youth and families, and apply trauma-informed approaches to programming.

The role emphasizes family involvement, milieu coordination, and collaboration with partners to support discharge planning and community care, with a 6–12 youth caseload and onsite work.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in behavioral sciences, human services, social work, marriage & family therapy, psychology, counseling, or related field.
• If unlicensed, on track to licensure in a related discipline.
• Provisional/intermediary licenses (e.g., LMFTA, LPCA) acceptable.
• Residential or inpatient/outpatient experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required per state regulations.

Nexus Family Healing is looking to add a Mental Health Therapist to join our newest Youth Psychiatric Residential Treatment facility set to open this summer in Eugene, Oregon! Our residential location in Portland, Oregon!

Nexus Family Healing is expanding to Eugene, Oregon, with the opening of a new 14-bed psychiatric residential treatment facility (PRTF) set to open this summer! This location is in partnership with the Oregon Health Authority Behavioral Health Division and will serve justice-involved youth ages 12-17 experiencing acute emotional concerns and serious and persistent mental illness.

• Full-time onsite opportunity

• Caseload of 6-12 youth!

• Pay range: $80,000-$90,000 annually depending on licensure

Position Summary: Our Therapist will provide overall management of the youth’s treatment through active engagement, clinical assessment, treatment, and discharge planning. Our therapist will provide clinical insight and work from a trauma-informed lens to enhance the milieu and programming. Engage with families through family therapy and treatment planning. Collaborate with the community and providers related to the youth’s progress and discharge planning.

Primary responsibilities:

Trauma-Informed Care

• Helps establish and maintain a positive treatment culture & environment
• Works with youth & family to develop a Nexus Individual and Family Guidance Plan
• Active involvement with Family Collaborative Intake meetings
• Completes Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) functional assessment in accordance to TCOM (collaborative) principles
• Through the collaborative effort with family, youth, and providers, develop and monitor the individual treatment plans
• Provide individualized, youth-focused, strength-based, and evidence-based

Milieu Coordination

• Develop and facilitate milieu and treatment groups that are trauma-informed, educational, and treatment-focused
• Participate in all youth-related treatment team meetings, using family-centered language and youth driven principals
• Serve as a clinical treatment team leader to YCP's. This includes but is not limited to modeling and coaching staff on rapport building with clients, trauma-informed practices, and de-escalation techniques on the treatment milieu as needed
• Be available on-call for consultation/treatment direction and/or decisions when appropriate
• Assess readiness for discharge in conjunction with the treatment team

Community Care

• Coordinate/communicate aftercare needs of the client with family and all necessary social service and community providers to ensure a smooth transition
• Communicate with the treatment team to include all desired and necessary family members, educational, legal, community, and social service providers (as well as all natural supports that the youth and family identify) to gather all necessary information to inform and support the treatment process
• Ensure that all required client reports, records, and all documentation are produced accurately and maintained in a consistent, timely, and professional manner according to policy and regulated statutes
• Educate and facilitate trainings for staff on trauma-informed practices, clinical diagnosis, treatment processes, and other clinically relevant training material
• Participate in team meetings, program clinical team meetings, therapy clinical supervision sessions, and in-service as required
• Ensure confidentiality regarding mental health, medical issues, background treatment, and comply with all HIPAA-related requirements
• Remain current on all company policies, assigned trainings, and/or certification requirements

Requirements

Required Education and Licensure:

• Master’s degree in one of the behavioral sciences, human services, social work, marriage & family therapy, psychology, counseling, or clinically related fields
• If currently unlicensed, must be on track to complete licensure for a specific, related discipline.
• And/or currently holds a provisional/intermediary license for a specific track (i.e. LMFTA, LPCA etc.)
• Experience working in a residential or intensive inpatient or outpatient setting required
• Valid driver’s license required. Must meet state regulating agency and Nexus Home Office driving requirements

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Fully licensed in OR - LCSW, LPC, LMFT
