Role Description The Mental Health Therapist is a full-time, on-site role based in Birmingham, AL. This position is responsible for providing individual and group therapy to adults using evidence-informed approaches aligned with person-centered care. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting clinical assessments, developing and updating treatment plans, documenting services in accordance with regulatory and agency standards, and coordinating care with internal team members and external providers. The therapist will participate in case reviews, provide psychoeducation to clients and families, support crisis intervention as needed, and contribute to a collaborative, trauma-informed environment that promotes resilience and wellness.

Qualifications

  • Clinical planning skills, including Treatment Planning and documentation of therapeutic goals.
  • Practice-based skills in Social Work and Case Management to coordinate services and advocate for client needs.
  • Strong Mental Health assessment and intervention skills, including experience with diverse diagnoses and levels of care.
  • Competence in Family Therapy and working with multi-generational households and caregivers.
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field; appropriate state licensure or eligibility preferred.
  • Experience providing mental health services to children, youth, and adults in community-based or outpatient settings.
  • Ability to maintain accurate clinical records, manage time effectively, and work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Strong communication, cultural humility, and crisis management skills; bilingual abilities are a plus.
