Job summary

Roxbury Treatment Center, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, is seeking a part-time Mental Health Technician to provide continuous patient care and support under RN supervision. The role includes supervising patients, leading activities, and ensuring safety within a 112-bed facility in Shippensburg, PA.

The position offers weekend rotation, potential growth opportunities, and benefits as outlined by UHS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a psychology-related field is highly preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Driver's License with safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Monitors unit milieu and helps to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
• Leads activity groups for patients according to the program schedule.
• Conducts patient observation rounds throughout the shift to ensure safety.
• Works collaboratively with unit nursing staff on patient care activities.
• Responds to patient crisis events accordingly using de-escalation techniques.

This is a great opportunity to work in the behavioral healthcare field.

This position is part-time with every other weekend rotation. Part-time would be two 12-hour shifts per week.

The hours for this position are:

6:30 pm - 7:00 am (Two 12-hour shifts per week) OR

6:30pm - 11:00 pm (4-5 shifts per week)

The Mental Health Technician functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction and role modeling to patients ranging in ages from adolescent through geriatrics. All MHT’s work under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
