Norman Regional Health System and Oceans Healthcare have partnered to expand access to behavioral health services in south central Oklahoma through the construction of a new, state-of-the-art behavioral hospital, opening Summer 2024.
The Behavioral Health Center at Porter Health Village, a 48-bed facility, will more than double Norman Regional Health System’s inpatient capacity for adult and senior behavioral health patients and introduce new services, including an intensive outpatient program and a dedicated geriatric behavioral health unit. The hospital will be located on the Norman Regional Porter campus, replacing the existing 20-bed behavioral health unit.
The Mental Health Technician (MHT) supports nursing staff by performing routine tasks and patient care activities within their training scope, maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment in compliance with regulatory standards, Oceans' mission, and policies.
Education / Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, CNA certification, or at least 6 months of bedside patient care experience.
Skills / Qualifications: Ability to read, write, follow instructions, communicate effectively, and work well with diverse populations. Must be in good health, demonstrate empathy, respect, integrity, and complete CPR and behavioral de-escalation training.
